Grow your business with Spray
Grow your business with Spray 4
Spray courses can help you to build your business offering
Spraying offers loads of benefits to your business. It allows you to finish a job more quickly, letting you move onto your next project and helping you book more jobs into your diary. It also offers a smoother finish, giving your customers the high-quality outcome that they demand.
Spray courses are among the most popular at the Dulux Academy and Tony Pearson-Young, Skills Development Consultant, is one of our Spray tutors. We spoke to Tony to find out more about the spray courses and what delegates can expect to learn.
Learn new techniques and grow your business
One of the main misconceptions about spraying is that it is only for large, commercial jobs.
Tony says: "On the whole, the industry tends to view spray application as only appropriate for commercial work, but once individuals understand the correct processes of spraying they see how adaptable this method of application is and can explore opportunities for using it in domestic environments.
"Upskilling with new techniques such as spray application is one of the quickest and easiest ways appliers can build their business offering."
Spray courses are aimed at both decorators who are new to the process and those who are looking to refresh their knowledge.
"Whatever their reasons for joining courses, the common theme is that delegates leave with increased confidence and a better understanding of how they can use the method in new ways, all of which ultimately benefits their customers," he adds.
Courses help you to get the right spray equipment
Spray courses at Dulux Academy don't just focus on theory and practical skills. The training also is designed to help you learn about the different equipment that is available, to help you purchase the right tools. To ensure the very best training, the Academy ensures that all the equipment used is among the best in the market.
"As we continue to develop the courses to meet the needs and requests of our customers we're keeping ourselves up-to-date with the latest equipment and materials available in the industry," says Tony.
"Zipwall, for example, provides a great system to enclose a working area protecting from over sprays which we can showcase to our course delegates to assist them in their understanding of what's available in the market to assist them as professional decorators," he adds.
Courses designed for all knowledge levels
Whatever your knowledge or experience level, Dulux Academy has a relevant course. There are three one-day courses available, and these are delivered across the UK, meaning you don't have to take days out of your working week.
- Introduction to Spray Application - covers all the essential basics including how to set-up, maintain, clean and store equipment, and tips on the practical application required to achieve a perfect finish.
- Advanced Spray Application (HVLP) - improve your skills using HVLP techniques. This course is perfect if your client base is predominantly in the domestic sector and you are looking to develop your skills in furniture and/or cabinet painting.
- Advanced Spray Application (Airless) - develop Airless spraying techniques, including dealing with challenging surfaces. Ideal if your client base is predominantly in the commercial or new-build sectors.
Tony concludes: "Courses are held in our purpose-built training environments with group sizes of a maximum of eight people. This ensures that all attendees get the best learning experiences possible and get everything they need out of their course."
Upcoming course dates include:
- Introduction to Spray - 31 Jan (Leeds), 5 Feb (Slough), 29 March (Slough)
- Advanced (HVLP) - 22 Feb (Slough), 19 March (Slough)
