Everything you need to know about being a DSD Fellow

Everything you need to know about being a DSD Fellow

The Dulux Select Decorators Fellow status was established in 2009 to give recognition to long standing members who uphold the highest standards, are actively supportive and represent the ethos of the scheme.

Being a Fellow is about give and take. Fellows are expected to support the scheme through attendance at events, positive reinforcement in person or on social media and by getting involved and supporting newer members as needed.

In return they are offered a number of benefits:

  • A 10% discount on membership at the time of renewal

  • Certification of Fellow Membership

  • Invitation to the annual Fellows Dinner

  • Use of the Fellow identity

"Being a Fellow is something that I want you to personally feel honoured of and ensure you are recognised as such amongst our membership. Therefore, I am delighted to use this opportunity to reveal our new Fellows identify" commented Vickie at the recent Fellows Dinner

Becoming a Fellow

Fellow status is granted to a small percentage of the membership. Should you wish to nominate yourself to become a Fellow you will need to:

  • have been a member of the Dulux Select Decorators scheme for at least 10 consecutive years demonstrate support for the scheme and its objectives

  • predominantly use AkzoNobel products on your jobs (approx. 80%)

  • actively use the scheme tools including Guarantee, Feedback and Disclaimer forms

  • have no upheld complaints against you.

If you meet the above criteria and would like to play a more active role in the scheme then we'd like to hear from you at Duluxselectdecorators@diversity.agency

One benefit of being a Fellow is an invite to the annual Fellows Dinner. The event, which aims to celebrate and recognise our Fellows and provide an opportunity to catch-up and share experiences, had a new format this year.

The event was held on a Saturday night in the Cotswolds and for the first time Fellows were invited to bring a guest. Everyone enjoying a three-course dinner, along with some fantastic entertainment provided by Steph Howles and Rose Morris. A big thank you to both, this really showcased the essence of being a Fellow!

The event also provided an opportunity to acknowledge the commitment and contribution of three of our Fellows who have members since the scheme launch in 1996. Congratulations to Wayne de Wet, Steve Dove and Rob Whyte!
