Dulux Trade Assists in £50M Redevelopment of Vision West Nottinghamshire College
Dulux Trade Assists in £50M Redevelopment
The college's recent £50 million redevelopment has allowed for new buildings, facilities and opportunities, and Dulux Trade is proud to have played a part in the update of these state-of-the-art facilities.
Dulux Trade's long-standing relationship with Vision West Nottinghamshire College originated with the partial refurbishment of the Studio School, where the team was tasked with implementing an impactful colour scheme without moving the existing furniture. From there Dulux Trade built a working relationship with the college and has gone on to work on several more projects with Vision West Nottinghamshire College
"We worked closely with Vision West Nottinghamshire from the planning stages of this project, liaising with the architects to ensure bespoke colour collaboration throughout the design. It was important that the space looked and felt right for its end-users which meant we were involved from the first approved architects drawings in order to provide high level of support to both customer and contractor."
Lisa Pilley, Commercial Colour Consultant AkzoNobel
With the most recent project, the original brief was to create a colour scheme designed for a more grown up client than the rest of the site which is a 16+ college.
The University centre needed to be an environment which could be used both day and evening by external business clients, thus required a professional finish suitable for meetings, as well as teaching. From this, Dulux Trade, with direction from IBI Architects Manchester, was able to create the desired effect.
The aim was to use on-trend shades of mustard and dark-watery teal across the three floors of the building to reflect the local landscape, while still introducing strong pops of colour.
The Main product of choice was Dulux Trade Diamond Matt, a hardwearing, water-based matt emulsion paint that uses Dulux Trade's Diamond Technology, making it perfect for high traffic areas.
It's resistance to typical everyday stains means it will repeatedly wipe clean without polishing up which means it's ideal for colleges such as Vision West Notts.
